Take a Minute for a SAFER Workplace is a series of short videos that highlight some of the potential hazards that forest industry workers may encounter in both the harvesting and manufacturing sectors.

Confined Spaces

Confined spaces in workplaces pose a significant risk to injury and death. Hazards in confined spaces can result in fire, explosion, unconsciousness, asphyxiation, or drowning. Confined space incidents can happen suddenly, often without any warning anything is wrong.

Wood Debris Engulfment

There have been a number of incidents where workers working in BC forest industry manufacturing plants were injured as a result of being buried by wood debris, some with tragic consequences.

In The Clear

Most serious falling incidents happen within 10 feet of the stump. When the tree starts to fall, move away on your escape path and get out of this high hazard zone. Always have a good escape route, and cover if available.

Important reminders on locking out and de-energizing machinery and equipment.
